Sr. Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a senior backend developer to join our team in Brampton on a contract basis. The role focuses on building and maintaining high‑performance Java microservices using Spring Boot while leveraging AI‑assisted coding tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend services with Java 8‑21 and Spring Boot.
• Create and maintain REST and SOAP APIs following clean‑code, SOLID, and domain‑driven design principles.
• Implement data persistence using Spring Data JPA and Hibernate.
• Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate deployments on Kubernetes.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Secure APIs with OAuth, JWT, and TLS, and manage access control.
• Optimize performance with Redis, asynchronous processing, and Azure services such as Blob Storage and Managed Identity.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and drive architectural improvements.

Required profile

• 6‑12 years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and cloud‑native patterns.
• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
