Sport Horse & Lameness Veterinarian – Full‑time

About the role

McKee‑Pownall Equine Services is seeking an experienced equine veterinarian to join its Milton clinic, focusing on sport‑horse medicine and lameness. The role involves delivering high‑level clinical care to performance horses and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat lameness and performance‑related conditions in sport horses.
• Perform advanced imaging procedures including MRI, digital radiography and ultrasound.
• Utilize AI‑driven gait analysis and gastroscopy to assess musculoskeletal health.
• Provide advanced dental care and contribute to internal medicine and reproductive cases.
• Participate in case reviews, imaging discussions and continuous learning sessions with colleagues.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate findings to owners and trainers.

Required profile

• Veterinary degree with a valid equine licence in Canada.
• Several years of hands‑on experience in sport‑horse and lameness medicine.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
• Willingness to be on‑call one weekday and one weekend per month.

Required skills

• MRI operation and interpretation.
• Digital radiography and ultrasound imaging.
• AI gait analysis (Sleip) and gastroscopy.
• Advanced equine dentistry techniques.
• Comprehensive diagnostic imaging and lameness assessment.
