Software Engineer – Trade

About the role

BitGo is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Trade team in Toronto. You will design and build resilient APIs and services that power clearing, settlement, lending, trading and liquidity functions for digital asset financial services. The role is full‑time onsite and requires independent ownership from design through deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust, high‑performance APIs, libraries and services for trade‑related financial operations.
• Own feature development from inception to production, including scalability and customer integration.
• Expose and document functionality for UI, third‑party developers and internal tooling.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and product managers to ensure technical requirements are met and quality standards upheld.
• Provide mentorship through code reviews and share best practices across the engineering organization.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to open communication, transparency and ownership.
• Passion for high craftsmanship and interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
• Excellent algorithm design, problem‑solving and complexity‑analysis abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Server‑side programming with Golang, TypeScript/Node.js, Java or Python.
• Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Design and implementation of RESTful APIs.
• Unit, functional testing and debugging expertise.
• Version control using Git/GitHub and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Microservices and service‑oriented architecture experience.
