Software Engineer

About the role

Magical is building an agentic automation platform that uses AI to streamline complex healthcare workflows. As a Software Engineer you will help design and implement the core systems that power these AI‑driven agents, turning messy clinical processes into reliable, production‑grade automations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend and full‑stack components that support AI agents and healthcare automation workflows.
• Own features from implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
• Build product and platform capabilities for workflow creation, testing, editing, and production reporting.
• Enhance system reliability by improving run‑state management, queue handling, error classification, alerts, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with product, design, and deployment teams to translate real‑world healthcare use cases into robust automation solutions.

Required profile

• Experience building backend or full‑stack systems that run in production.
• Strong fundamentals in databases, APIs, message queues, asynchronous workflows, and observability.
• Comfortable working with TypeScript/Node.js or a comparable backend stack.
• Hands‑on experience integrating AI tools into development workflows.
