Social Media Designer

About the role

Okta’s Brand and Creative team is seeking a Social Media Designer to define and own the visual voice of the brand across its organic social channels. This is the first dedicated creative hire for social, giving you the opportunity to set the standard for how Okta appears in feeds from LinkedIn to YouTube.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design for all organic social assets, from concept through publication, across static, carousel, and feed‑first formats.
• Develop and iterate recurring creative templates that translate business initiatives into channel‑native content quickly.
• Transform the “Okta Secures AI” narrative into compelling visual ideas that drive attention, engagement, and shares.
• Incorporate cultural relevance while maintaining the trusted security brand tone.
• Create assets for social advocacy programs to enable employees and partners to share content at scale.
• Collaborate with the video team to design high‑impact YouTube thumbnails, playlist art, and supporting visuals.
• Test new formats, analyze performance, and establish repeatable best practices.
• Present creative direction to stakeholders and mentor other designers contributing to social.

Required profile

• Strong portfolio of social‑first design work that captures attention and drives engagement.
• Ability to think in native social formats and translate complex identity and security concepts into simple visual stories.
• Comfort operating at the speed of culture while protecting brand integrity.
• Excellent visual storytelling instincts and a keen sense of what resonates with senior, technical audiences.
