About the role
The Simulation Learning Centre Instructor provides leadership and instructional support for the Simulation Centre, serving both hospital and technology units. Working closely with faculty, technicians and external partners, the instructor helps design, deliver and evaluate simulated clinical experiences for nursing and health‑science students.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Simulation Centre under the OOS Manager and Program Head.
- Collaborate with faculty to select appropriate simulation technologies, develop scenario content and integrate simulation into curricula.
- Orient faculty, staff and students to simulators and evaluate the effectiveness of simulation experiences.
- Assist co‑faculty in creating and revising specific scenario content.
- Work with simulation technicians and coordinators to plan, schedule and manage simulation events, including supply logistics.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of IPSLC policies, procedures and evaluation tools.
- Monitor simulation scenarios, assess student progress and provide feedback.
- Create inter‑professional learning opportunities and coordinate professional services staff.
- Maintain relationships with internal faculty and external institutions, vendors and industry leaders.
- Partner with the Virtual Campus to develop virtual lab opportunities.
- Participate in campus, industry and professional activities; occasional evenings, weekends and travel may be required.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and active registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association.
- Minimum two years recent, relevant experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective instructional and small‑group facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of adult‑education theory and ability to apply it.
- Capability to arrange, maintain and evaluate resources in a changing environment.
- Proficiency with internet, e‑mail and MS Office Suite, and willingness to learn new technologies.
