Sessional Lecturer – Biotic Disturbances (Forest Sciences)

About the role

The Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia seeks a part‑time Sessional Lecturer to teach FRST307 Biotic Disturbances during the 2026 fall term. The appointment runs from 1 September 2026 to 31 December 2026 and involves delivering lectures and laboratory sessions for a 3‑credit upper‑level course.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver three weekly lectures (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 11:00‑11:50 am).
• Lead three weekly laboratory sections, guiding students through hands‑on investigations of forest biotic disturbances.
• Design and implement active‑learning activities and formative assessments.
• Maintain course materials, grading records, and provide timely feedback to students.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Forest Sciences.
• Research experience in Forest Pathology with focus on pathogen biology, epidemiology, and management.
• Demonstrated ability to teach upper‑level university courses.
