Server Assistant - Braven

About the role

Braven, a restaurant in Edmonton run by Oliver & Bonacini, is looking for a Server Assistant. The restaurant offers elevated cuisine in a relaxed yet vibrant setting, and the role sits on the front-of-house team. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Answer questions about food, beverages, wine and other restaurant functions and services when needed.
• Assist with food running so that plates arrive to the right guest.
• Keep the section clean and free of clutter, and communicate with servers and hosts to maximize seating.
• Maintain a high level of floor awareness and keep the area clear and clean as required.
• Pre-portion condiments and keep fridges stocked with milk, cream, butter and similar items.
• Monitor food quality and presentation standards, and follow all food safety standards and systems.
• Empty garbage, change linen bags and dispose of garbage and recycling.
• Pass on guest comments and information to the servers so guests have a positive, memorable experience.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Required profile

• Valid Smart Serve certification (required).
• 6 months to 1 year of previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Able to work all Oilers home games and concerts at Rogers Place.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Required skills

• High attention to detail and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Ability to take direction, prioritize and maintain professional urgency.
• Strong oral communication skills and high level of product knowledge.
