Line Cook - Braven

About the role

Braven, a restaurant within Oliver & Bonacini in Edmonton, is looking for a line cook. It describes itself as a contemporary Alberta-inspired restaurant offering elevated cuisine in a relaxed yet vibrant setting. The position is full-time, based in the back of house, and is a PM shift.

Key responsibilities

• Perform delegated tasks from the Sous Chef, Chef and/or General Manager
• Prepare the event space food daily according to O&B standards
• Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications
• Maintain a prep list of station duties and follow the FIFO method to keep food fresh
• Assist with food inventory and control, and help receive and store deliveries
• Clean prep areas, equipment and utensils, and follow sanitation, food safety and hygiene guidelines
• Follow WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Required profile

• 1-2 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant or event/catering environment
• Able to take direction and work calmly under pressure
• Able to stand 100% of the time
• Available weekends, evenings and holidays
• Legally eligible to work in Canada

Required skills

• Basic understanding of professional cooking
• Knife handling skills
• Culinary diploma or degree is an asset
