Senior/Staff Software Engineer – Web Tools

About the role

Waabi’s Tools team builds software tools that solve Waabi‑specific problems and accelerate development of self‑driving technology. As a Senior/Staff Software Engineer you will improve the existing suite of services and expand it with new interactive web tools.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical and architecture discussions, collaborating with researchers and engineers.
• Mentor other software engineers through code reviews, technical design reviews, and sharing best practices.
• Build and maintain interactive web tools such as simulation, custom labeling, data annotation, dataset curation, and result comparison tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of industry experience developing production‑quality software.
• Empathy for tool users, open‑minded collaborative attitude, and passion for self‑driving technologies.

Required skills

• TypeScript and React (or similar) for responsive web applications.
• Backend development with Go, Python, Rust, or C++.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS or GCP).
• Bonus: container/IaC tools, WebGL, D3.js, three.js, UX/design, ML/self‑driving knowledge, Agile/Scrum practices.

What we offer

• US yearly salary range $141,000 – $249,000.
