Senior Tax Accountant – Canada/US Corporate Tax

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to lead tax compliance, planning, and reporting for a portfolio of companies operating across Canada and the United States. The role works closely with finance, accounting, and executive teams to ensure accurate tax filings and strategic tax advice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns for Canadian and U.S. entities.
• Calculate MACRS depreciation and related tax schedules.
• Manage sales, excise, rail‑car, and property tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assist with ASC 740 tax provisions and related financial reporting.
• Process federal, state, and provincial tax installment payments and allocations.
• Support tax audits by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Monitor legislative changes and assess impact on the organization.
• Identify tax‑saving opportunities and process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• CPA designation.
• 4–7+ years of corporate or public‑practice tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. tax regulations.
• Ability to travel to the United States as needed.
