About the role
The Senior Software Engineer on Zynga’s Ad Monetization team creates interactive advertising experiences such as mini‑games and surveys. You will transform approved creative concepts into polished, high‑performing ad units and own the technical execution from implementation through deployment.
Key responsibilities
- Build high‑quality playable ads and interactive creative units from storyboards, design assets, and briefs.
- Implement gameplay mechanics, transitions, animations, and other UX elements for seamless user experiences.
- Integrate and optimize creative assets across supported environments, ensuring performance, responsiveness, and file‑size efficiency.
- Implement tracking, analytics, and event instrumentation to measure creative performance.
- Conduct self‑QA, resolve issues, and deliver production‑ready builds with minimal oversight.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (or equivalent).
- 6+ years of professional software development experience.
Required skills
- Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with 2D HTML5 game frameworks such as Phaser or CreateJS.
- Knowledge of 2D/3D JavaScript frameworks like PixiJS and ThreeJS.
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems, geometry, vector math, and pixel‑level manipulation (ImageData).
- Hands‑on experience with the HTML5 Canvas API, render loops, requestAnimationFrame, and animation timing.
- Responsive Web Design expertise and building fluid layouts for mobile, tablet, and desktop.
- Asset‑management pipelines for efficient loading, caching, and optimization of spritesheets, audio sprites, and JSON data.
- Proficiency with Photoshop is highly preferred.
