Senior Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Vista Projects is seeking a Senior Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of rotating‑equipment packages for energy‑industry projects. You will work from concept through detailed design, ensuring technical integrity, cost control, and schedule adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop process designs and mechanical specifications for rotating equipment units and complete packages.
• Prepare, interpret and apply design criteria, select machinery, and evaluate performance against project requirements.
• Supervise the design of component parts, individual units, and full rotating‑equipment packages.
• Control costs and budgets, reviewing designs for conformance with estimates and specifications.
• Maintain project schedules, track engineering tasks, and coordinate deliverables with project management.
• Prepare equipment specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
• Review vendor quotations, drawings, and specifications for technical adequacy.
• Provide fabrication and technical support to vendors and review facility drawings, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings from a rotating‑equipment perspective.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in rotating‑equipment design for the energy or industrial sector.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and manage complex engineering packages.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on cost, schedule, and technical compliance.
