Outdoor Power Equipment Technician

About the role

Timberland Supply Inc is seeking an experienced Outdoor Power Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain a range of small engines and outdoor equipment in Edmonton. The role involves direct interaction with customers and ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and isolate faults on engines and motors, documenting inspections and tests.
• Adjust, repair or replace parts using hand tools and equipment, then test for proper performance.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on garden tractors, lawn mowers and other gasoline‑powered equipment.
• Estimate repair costs and review work orders.
• Advise customers on work performed and equipment condition.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in small engine mechanics or related field.
• Manual dexterity, attention to detail and hand‑eye coordination.
• Ability to work in physically demanding positions (bending, crouching, handling heavy loads).
• Strong client focus, reliable and organized with good oral communication.

Required skills

• Engine and motor fault diagnosis.
• Hand‑tool repair and part replacement.
• Small engine mechanics for garden tractors and lawn mowers.
• Scheduled maintenance procedures for gasoline‑powered equipment.
