Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Robotics

About the role

Humanoid is developing world‑leading humanoid robots and seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of critical mechanical subsystems. You will work closely with robotics, controls, electrical and software teams to create robust, scalable hardware that powers humanoid mobility and manipulation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop structural components, joints, and linkages for humanoid platforms.
• Create 3D CAD models and production drawings using SolidWorks or NX, applying GD&T (ASME Y14.5) for precision.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes that balance strength, weight, cost and scalability.
• Lead rapid prototyping using 3D printing, CNC machining and other fast‑fabrication tools.
• Design for high‑volume production, including casting, injection molding and sheet‑metal fabrication.
• Integrate motors, sensors and embedded systems with mechanical designs.
• Conduct mechanical testing, validation, risk assessments and safety analyses.
• Maintain technical documentation, specifications and bill of materials.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design for robotics or complex electromechanical products.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics, statics, dynamics, thermals and material science.
