About the role
We’re Article, a fast‑growing furniture company based in Vancouver, and we’re looking for a Senior Material and Texture Artist to create accurate, photorealistic digital textures, materials and shaders for our products. You will translate physical references, photography and scan data into production‑ready assets that power our digital experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Create high‑quality, photorealistic textures, shaders and materials for a variety of surfaces such as upholstery, wood, stone, metal, glass and plastics.
- Develop tileable and asset‑specific textures using procedural, scan‑based and hand‑authored techniques, including UV layout and mapping.
- Perform look development and material validation in 3ds Max and Corona Renderer, troubleshooting shading and rendering issues.
- Maintain and expand Article’s centralized digital material library, ensuring consistency, reusability and adherence to standards.
- Support material capture workflows (photography, photogrammetry, photoscanning) and collaborate with modeling, visualization and digitization teams to improve pipelines.
Required profile
- 5+ years of professional experience in texture artistry, look development or related CGI disciplines.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating photorealistic material creation across diverse real‑world surfaces.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Substance 3D suite and production experience with 3ds Max and Corona Renderer.
- Deep understanding of physically based rendering, color, scale, roughness and reflectance.
- Experience working within a structured CG production pipeline and handling complex material challenges.
