Senior Investigator for Business Risk Assessment & Mitigation

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Investigator to join its Business Risk Assessment and Mitigation (BRAM) program. The role focuses on preserving the integrity of the Mastercard brand by conducting thorough investigations into potential illegal activity, brand‑damaging behavior, and violations of Mastercard Standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review referrals from external partners and internal stakeholders, assess scope, gather facts, and initiate investigations promptly.
• Conduct evidence review, evaluate customer responses, coordinate testing, document findings, and support case closure.
• Escalate complex, high‑impact matters to management with clear rationale and recommended actions.
• Maintain professional communication with referral partners, vendors, customers, and internal teams throughout investigations.
• Identify referral trends, emerging typologies, and process‑improvement opportunities to enhance program effectiveness.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in investigative, compliance, risk, audit, merchant monitoring, or brand protection work.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate facts, document findings, and produce defensible case outcomes.
• Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.
• Self‑motivated with excellent time‑management skills and the ability to handle confidential data with tact and integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using case‑management, reporting, analytics, monitoring, or investigation tools.
