Senior Front End Software Developer (Contract) – Hybrid – Toronto

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Front End Software Developer on a long‑term contract to support a public‑sector client in Toronto. The role is hybrid, offering the chance to work on high‑profile digital transformation projects that serve thousands of users across the province.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise‑level web applications.
• Create responsive, accessible UI components using modern front‑end frameworks.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to turn wireframes into high‑quality user experiences.
• Consume and integrate RESTful APIs and web services.
• Optimize performance, ensure security, and adhere to accessibility (AODA/WCAG) standards.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in front‑end development for enterprise applications.
• Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS/SASS, Bootstrap.
• Responsive Web Design, Angular (preferred), React, Vue.js.
• REST APIs, JSON, AJAX.
• Git, Azure DevOps, Jira, Visual Studio Code, npm, Webpack, Node.js.
• Testing frameworks: Jasmine, Karma, Jest, Cypress, Selenium.
• Agile, Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD practices.

What we offer

• Contract from August 3 2026 to February 2 2027 with a possible 6‑month extension.
• Hybrid work mode, 7 hours per day, Monday‑Friday.
• Compensation $85–$100 CAD per hour, based on skills and experience.
