Senior Forest Technician

About the role

If you have a few seasons under your belt and are looking for a change from industry or government work, this senior position may be a perfect fit. The role involves leading forest planning activities and supervising field crews while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning and layout of road and harvest systems.
• Manage all aspects of data collection and analysis both in the field and office.
• Ensure legal, regulatory and client‑specific requirements are met with deliverables.
• Supervise field crews and provide training to all team members.

Required profile

• Commitment to safety that goes above and beyond.
• Forestry education – Forestry Tech Diploma or Degree.
• Registered or eligible for registration with ABCFP as RPF or RFT.
• Minimum four years of experience with road and cut‑block layout in BC.
• Experience using LiDAR data for planning and locating roads and cut‑blocks.
• Strong understanding of forest policy, guidelines and BC regulations.
• Experience in steep‑slope layout, deflection analysis, SP data collection, drafting, riparian assessments, forest health surveys.
