Project HSE Manager

About the role

The Project HSE Manager will manage the HSE program for the Floatel, supply and transport vessels for the Woodfibre LNG Project, covering the Richmond and Vancouver areas, and will report to the Corporate HSE Manager. The role requires marine operations experience and a strong HSE background.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits and inspections of the project’s small vessel fleet and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure all vessels comply with Transport Canada regulations and prepare for Transport Canada audits.
• Oversee HSEQ aspects of the Floatel and review ship management practices for safety compliance.
• Review incident reports, conduct root‑cause analyses and share lessons learned across all vessels.
• Perform technical inspections of critical ship areas such as the bridge and engine room.
• Participate in emergency response drills and provide HSE support during emergencies.
• Act as the company’s representative in HSE matters during meetings with stakeholders, clients and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in marine operations and HSE management.
• Strong knowledge of Transport Canada regulations and marine safety practices.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with incident investigation and root‑cause analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, clients and external stakeholders.
• Preferred HSE designations (CRSP, CRST, CSO, NCSO) or equivalent.
• Marine certifications (DPA, SVOP, SVMO) preferred.
• Formal education in HSE (degree, diploma or certificates) preferred.
