About the role
Join BASF Agricultural Solutions as a Canola Research Summer Associate, supporting trial activities to develop and evaluate canola hybrids across the full crop cycle, from seed preparation to harvest.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with seed preparation, planting, pest control, pollination and harvest activities.
- Monitor crop health, collect data and support hybrid and parental selection.
- Help with field logistics and supervise casual staff when needed.
- Participate in sales tours and provide on‑site support for agronomic research trials.
Required profile
- Currently studying Agriculture or a related field.
- Strong interest in agronomics, plant breeding or field research.
- Problem‑solving mindset and ability to adapt to changing field conditions.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence (required for Alberta sites).
- Bonus: experience working on a farm or with machinery (not required).
What we offer
- Hourly wage of $25‑$32 (CAD) per hour.
- Overtime paid for evenings or weekends during peak periods.
