Senior Financial Analyst – Interior Health Region

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Faculty of Medicine’s activities in the Interior Health region. This position will work closely with the Regional Associate Dean, Interior, and a network of over 1,600 clinicians and health professionals delivering medical education and research.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and report on budgets, forecasts, and financial performance for the Interior health education and research portfolio.
• Provide financial guidance to program leaders, ensuring alignment with university and health authority policies.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision‑making.
• Monitor expenditures, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Interior Health, to facilitate funding allocations and financial compliance.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Significant experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting, preferably in a public‑sector or academic environment.
• Strong understanding of Canadian public‑sector financial regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
