Junior Project Analyst

About the role

The Junior Project Analyst will support the finance and operations teams by providing accurate project cost reporting and analysis. This in‑office position in Kelowna offers the chance to work on diverse construction projects while developing professional skills in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up projects in the ERP system, ensuring contracts, change orders, purchase orders and subcontract compliance are accurate.
• Review project costs, payroll hours and expense classifications ahead of billing cycles to provide financial clarity.
• Prepare job‑cost adjustments, month‑end accruals and coordinate monthly invoicing, progress claims and holdback processing.
• Track accounts receivable, conduct billing analysis and support cash‑flow management across projects.
• Build strong relationships with project teams, accounting, leadership and external partners to foster transparency.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in project accounting, job costing, cost control or operational finance, preferably in construction or heavy‑industrial settings.
• Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and data‑interpretation abilities with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with financial systems; experience with Vista Viewpoint is a strong asset.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and Lookups.
• Familiarity with ERP setups and reporting tools.
