Senior Corporate Accountant (Real Estate)

About the role

Leyad, a Montreal‑based real estate investment and management firm, is looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant to support its corporate accounting team. You will work closely with the Corporate Controller and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance within a dynamic real‑estate environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close for assigned operating segments, prepare journal entries and review operating statements for consolidation.
• Assist the Corporate Controller with financial consolidation and variance analysis.
• Maintain general ledgers, reconcile intercompany transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
• Account for debt, equity, financing activities, and corporate investments, including acquisitions and dispositions.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/ASPE, tax regulations and corporate policies; prepare working papers for external auditors.
• Support corporate tax, sales tax filings and regulatory reporting.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent designation preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 1 year in public accounting (preferably Big Four).
• Strong technical expertise in IFRS reporting and financial statement preparation.
• Experience in the real‑estate sector and knowledge of IAS 40 is an asset.
