Senior Analyst – Horizon (Oil Sands Laboratory)

About the role

Bureau Veritas Canada is seeking a Senior Analyst for the Oil Sands Laboratory at CNRL Horizon in Fort McMurray. The role supports client plant operations by delivering high‑quality analytical data quickly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a Safety Leader, motivate the team and keep operations on schedule.
• Operate and maintain instruments such as GCs, ICPs, IC, Auto‑Titrators, Viscometers, Digital Density Meters, Dean Stark and particle size analyzers.
• Prepare samples, follow SOPs and deliver accurate analytical results on time.
• Maintain calibration, quality‑control records and perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate procedural changes to improve efficiency, recovery and productivity.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary diploma or degree in a related field (e.g., Petroleum/Chemical Technology).
• 4‑5 years of experience as a Laboratory Analyst.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in safety, projects or committees.
• Strong knowledge of sample handling, quality‑assurance protocols and occupational health & safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
