Senior Accountant, Tax

About the role

Join MNP’s dynamic Tax team as a Senior Accountant, where you will act as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering customized tax strategies within a complex regulatory environment. You will help ensure compliance, minimize risk, and maximize returns for a diverse portfolio of businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns, year‑end tax forms (T4s/T5s), and calculate share capital.
• Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses.
• Evaluate existing processes, advise on policy and tax changes, and develop proactive tax strategies.
• Identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate with managers or partners to resolve them.
• Correspond with clients and government agencies on tax compliance matters.
• Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and presentations outlining engagement findings.
• Lead engagement teams, mentor junior staff, and build effective client relationships.
• Contribute ideas to improve work processes and support business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, preferably with an accounting or finance focus.
• Completion of CPA designation.
• 2‑4 years of public accounting or tax experience.
• Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act.
