Senior Accountant – Contract (Hybrid, Mississauga)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a well‑established organization in Mississauga on a short‑term contract. You will rebuild ten months of bank reconciliations that were disrupted by a recent ERP implementation, delivering a clear, repeatable process for management.

Key responsibilities

• Rebuild approximately ten months of bank reconciliations using Excel.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
• Match transactions across multiple datasets and supporting records.
• Develop efficient reconciliation templates and working papers.
• Create audit‑support documentation and clear process guidelines.
• Partner with the Controller and accounting team during onboarding and take ownership of the project.
• Provide daily progress updates to management.
• Recommend process improvements for future reconciliations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience performing complex, high‑volume bank reconciliations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, formulas, data matching and filtering.
• Strong analytical and investigative problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable improving existing processes.
• CPA designation or equivalent accounting experience is an asset.
