Security Analyst – Enterprise Network Security (Regina)

About the role

We are seeking a Security Analyst to join a public‑sector client in Regina for a 24‑month fixed‑term contract. The role focuses on protecting enterprise networks, reviewing security configurations, and supporting incident response in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in core team meetings to ensure privacy considerations are integrated throughout projects.
• Manage the security incident queue in ServiceNow, following incident response procedures.
• Monitor, analyze, and investigate network security events across firewalls, IDS/IPS, web proxies, and other security technologies.
• Perform network traffic analysis, packet capture reviews, and log examinations to detect threats and unauthorized activity.
• Review firewall rules, ACLs, routing paths, and security policies to identify misconfigurations and risks.
• Collaborate with network, cloud, identity, endpoint, and application teams to validate changes and remediate findings.

Required profile

• Experience supporting enterprise security operations in complex, distributed environments.
• Strong understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, proxy services, secure web gateways, DNS security, load balancers, and network access controls.
• Ability to analyze network traffic, logs, packet captures, and security alerts for threat detection and incident response.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, VPN, wireless security, and common network protocols.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust principles, network segmentation, least‑privilege access, and identity‑aware security controls.
• Experience documenting findings, risk statements, technical recommendations, and remediation actions.
• Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, ISO/IEC 27001, and ISO/IEC 27002.
• Experience participating in change‑management processes and reviewing security impact of network changes.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills to convey technical findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
