Scholarship Selections & Outreach Officer

About the role

The MCF Scholarship Selection and Outreach Officer supports the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at McGill University. Reporting to the Program Manager, the role combines recruitment outreach, scholarship eligibility assessment, and coordination of selection processes to ensure high‑quality admissions outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Attend outreach events across the African continent and virtually to support recruitment goals.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective scholars throughout the admissions process.
• Determine admission and scholarship eligibility based on guidelines and multiple information sources.
• Manage the Scholarship Selection Committee and oversee the scholar selection process.
• Maintain the program’s application webpage and develop communication tools, including website and LinkedIn content.
• Track recruitment and selection metrics and provide regular reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Experience designing and facilitating workshops or information sessions in multicultural settings.
• Experience working with international students, preferably with knowledge of African contexts.
• Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Fluent in English (level 4) and French, with a third language considered an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with Banner (SIS) system.
• Experience using Minerva platform (asset).
