Sales and Service Manager

About the role

The Sales and Service Manager is responsible for developing new conference and group business while managing existing client relationships at UBC. This role oversees the full sales cycle, from prospecting and proposal preparation to contract negotiation and on‑site event execution.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect, solicit, negotiate and close conference and group bookings, managing both new and returning clients.
• Prepare formal proposals, conduct site tours, and ensure clients understand policies, facilities, and services.
• Coordinate logistics including facility booking, accommodation, equipment, registration, and on‑site event management.
• Develop and present sales strategies with senior management to meet revenue targets.
• Handle contract preparation, invoicing, payment follow‑up, and financial reporting.
• Maintain detailed client profiles, function details, and communication records.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of relevant experience in hospitality, tourism, or event management.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, respecting diverse perspectives.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and occasional travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using event management software such as EBMS and Opera.
• Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
