Rural/Suburban Substitute Mail Carrier (On‑call) – Saint‑Rémi

About the role

Join Canada Post as an on‑call substitute mail carrier serving rural and suburban communities around Saint‑Rémi. This temporary position offers a flexible schedule where the road becomes your office, allowing you to deliver mail independently while enjoying competitive compensation.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, collect and distribute postal items safely and on time.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of local roads, customers and delivery receptacles.
• Securely handle all mail in your possession.
• Process address‑change notices, damaged mail, delivered invoices (BID) and other Canada Post services.
• Wear and display the Canada Post identification badge while delivering and collecting mail.
• Lift and transport items up to 50 lb (22.7 kg).
• Operate a vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions.

Required profile

• Reliable and organized with the ability to work independently.
• Valid permanent provincial driver’s licence (Class 5 or G) with a satisfactory safe‑driving record.
• Vehicle meeting Canada Post specifications: automatic transmission, electric defrost, metal roof, extra power outlet for signage, minimum cargo space of 50 ft³ (1 415 L), passenger‑side window sill height between 38‑45 in.
