Retail Buyer – Purchasing & Vendor Management

About the role
We are seeking a Retail Buyer to join a well‑known retailer. The role combines product sourcing, vendor negotiation and direct customer interaction, supporting the company’s merchandising strategy across its stores.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating market trends, attending trade shows and reviewing product samples to select merchandise that matches the target demographic.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships, negotiate prices, terms and delivery dates, and monitor supplier KPIs such as fill rates and delivery timelines.
- Create, update and manage purchase orders within inventory and ERP/MRP systems, ensuring accurate cost, quantity and ship‑date information.
- Generate and review sales reports, markdown data and open‑to‑buy (OTB) plans to identify top‑performing and under‑performing items.
- Collaborate with supply‑chain, marketing, visual merchandising and store operations teams to coordinate product launches and seasonal promotions.
Required profile
- Retail experience with a solid understanding of buying or selling processes.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage vendor relationships.
- Analytical mindset with experience interpreting sales and inventory data.
- Excellent communication skills for both internal collaboration and customer‑facing interactions.

- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for order processing and inventory management.
