Research Assistant / Technician 3 – Epidemiology & Meta‑Analysis

About the role

The Conklin Lab at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences conducts population‑based epidemiologic research on cardiovascular risk factors, gender, and social determinants. The Research Assistant/Technician 3 will support data‑driven projects, focusing on systematic literature reviews and meta‑analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform systematic literature reviews, extract data, and prepare datasets for meta‑analysis.
• Conduct meta‑analysis using advanced statistical techniques, including subgroup and sensitivity analyses.
• Prepare results for manuscripts, reports, and presentations to the Principal Investigator and lab members.
• Provide training and guidance to new lab members on routine procedures and analytical tools.
• Assist with data management tasks such as cleaning, coding variables, and documentation.
• Support descriptive and inferential data analysis under supervision using R, SAS, or STATA.
• Participate in project team meetings and general lab administration.

Required profile

• Background in epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and adherence to research ethics.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.

Required skills

• Statistical software: R, SAS, STATA.
• Data extraction and cleaning.
