Research Assistant / Technician 2

About the role

The Research Assistant/Technician will support a multidisciplinary program investigating red blood cell biology, oxidative stress, transfusion medicine, and immunology. The role involves animal work, sample processing, and laboratory assays.

Key responsibilities

• Perform animal handling, husbandry, and experimental treatments following approved protocols.
• Collect blood, harvest tissues, and prepare samples for flow cytometry and other analyses.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks, animal records, and electronic databases.
• Prepare reagents, buffers, and manage inventory of laboratory supplies.

Required profile

• High school graduation with at least two years of related experience; an undergraduate degree in a biological science is preferred.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research team.

Required skills

• Animal handling, injections, blood collection, and tissue harvesting.
• Data analysis using Excel, GraphPad Prism, R, or Python.
• Laboratory techniques for hematological, biochemical, and immunological assays.
