Research Assistant – Data Curation & Specimen Management

About the role

The Research Assistant/Technician 2 will support data curation and specimen management for multiple gynecologic cancer studies within OVCARE and the AIM Lab. The role focuses on building an integrated image database that links digital histology images with clinical, molecular, laboratory, and patient‑reported data to enable AI‑driven biomarker discovery.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain inventory of study cohorts, histology slides, tissue blocks, and digital image files using established tracking systems.
• Curate and compile clinical, molecular, laboratory, and imaging data for entry into the integrated image database.
• Perform quality‑control checks on specimen and image data.
• Coordinate scanning, molecular, and imaging workflows with core facility laboratories.
• Collaborate regularly with research staff, trainees, and clinical database custodians.

Required profile

• Experience with specimen handling and inventory management in a research setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard protocols.
• Ability to work under general supervision and manage multiple tasks.
