Research Assistant – Clinical Research Unit

About the role

The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) of the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute is seeking a Research Assistant to support human clinical trials across multiple sites, including the Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre and UBC Hospital. This one‑year fixed‑term position involves direct interaction with study participants, investigators, and health‑care professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment and enrolment of participants for industry‑funded, grant‑funded, and investigator‑initiated trials.
• Conduct study visits, collect and process clinical data, and prepare materials for laboratory testing.
• Maintain strict adherence to study protocols and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
• Handle confidential information securely and ensure accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with the CRU director, research teams, clinicians, sponsors, and auditors.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow predefined protocols.
• Excellent organizational skills and capacity to work independently.
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and study participants.

Required skills

• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge.
• Experience with clinical trial recruitment and participant management.
