Relief Youth Worker (On-Call)

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Relief Youth Worker to provide on‑call support to youth in our 19‑unit residential program in Hamilton. The role involves flexible scheduling, including evenings, overnights and weekends, to ensure safe and supportive services for street‑involved and homeless youth.

Key responsibilities

• Establish a positive, non‑judgmental rapport with youth and act as a trusted point of contact.
• Oversee the 19‑unit program, addressing resident issues and ensuring a safe environment.
• Provide counseling, information, advocacy and crisis management as needed.
• Maintain program documentation, daily logs, statistics and client files.
• Collaborate with community partners and stay informed about regional social‑service agencies and relevant legislation.
• Perform household cleaning duties and support overall program operations.

Required profile

• Minimum C.Y.W. or S.S.W. diploma.
• At least one year of experience working with street‑involved or homeless youth.
• Experience in a residential setting is an asset.
• Commitment to a flexible schedule that includes overnight and weekend hours.
• Certification in non‑violent crisis intervention, First Aid/CPR and ASIST.
