Relief Support Worker – Community Residential Facility

About the role

Reporting to the Team Lead, the Relief Support Worker ensures the well‑being, safety and security of residents and the facility. The role involves offering ongoing support through conversation, role‑modeling behaviours, and engaging in activities that promote positive reintegration. Supervision of resident activities both inside the house and in the community, as well as basic household chores, are also required.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain resident safety, security and overall well‑being.
• Provide ongoing support through conversation, role‑modeling and activity facilitation.
• Supervise resident activities within the house and during community outings.
• Perform basic household chores to keep the facility clean and functional.

Required profile

• Relevant post‑secondary education and/or experience in a similar setting.
• Understanding of women‑centered practice within the criminal justice system.
• Strong personal boundaries and effective communication abilities.
• Skills in crisis prevention, intervention and problem‑solving.
• Availability to work all shifts, including awake overnights.
• Current criminal record check; Brain Story Certification is an asset.
