About the role
Douglas College is seeking a Regular Probationary Faculty member to teach Chinese within its Modern Languages Department. The successful candidate will join a passionate faculty team, delivering learner‑centered instruction and contributing to curriculum development on the New Westminster/Coquitlam campus.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and teach lessons in accordance with curriculum guidelines.
- Prepare teaching materials, quizzes, tests, and exams.
- Assess and evaluate student competencies.
- Design and support conversation lab activities for lab assistants.
- Provide academic advising to learners.
- Hold regular office hours and maintain professional development.
- Participate in curriculum revision, student placement testing, and departmental meetings.
- Contribute to faculty committees and shared responsibilities.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in a field relevant to teaching Chinese.
