Regular Probationary Faculty – Modern Languages (Chinese)

About the role

Douglas College is seeking a Regular Probationary Faculty member to teach Chinese within its Modern Languages Department. The successful candidate will join a passionate faculty team, delivering learner‑centered instruction and contributing to curriculum development on the New Westminster/Coquitlam campus.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and teach lessons in accordance with curriculum guidelines.
• Prepare teaching materials, quizzes, tests, and exams.
• Assess and evaluate student competencies.
• Design and support conversation lab activities for lab assistants.
• Provide academic advising to learners.
• Hold regular office hours and maintain professional development.
• Participate in curriculum revision, student placement testing, and departmental meetings.
• Contribute to faculty committees and shared responsibilities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a field relevant to teaching Chinese.
