Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) - Long Term Care

About the role

S&R Group is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for its long-term care facility in London. The role is described as working inside a resident's home, where staff feedback helps improve daily practice and residents' well-being. The employer provides a full orientation for new hires.

Key responsibilities

• Build genuine connections with residents and make meaningful moments part of every shift.
• Lead the care team with a clear, focused shift report, supervise and mentor PSWs, and drive the day's priorities.
• Assess, plan and deliver care for residents with complex needs, ensuring comfort, dignity and safety.
• Administer medications safely and accurately, monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
• Manage and document pressure injuries using enhanced digital photography to track healing.
• Practice to full scope, including subcutaneous hypodermoclysis, IV therapy and wound care.
• Partner with physicians, nurse practitioners and therapists to adjust care plans.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation and keep care plans current so the whole team has instant access to the right information.
• Support and educate families during challenging moments.
• Mentor new colleagues and students and take part in quality improvement huddles.

Required profile

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) completed within the past 6 months.
• Updated TB 2 Step test within the last year.
