Registered Nurse – OBS/Surgical Inpatient (Temporary Part‑Time)

About the role

The Groves Memorial Community Hospital is seeking a temporary part‑time Registered Nurse to join its OBS/Surgical Inpatient unit. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns across the continuum of ante‑partum, labour, delivery, post‑partum and neonatal periods.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the OBS/Surgical Inpatient unit, including assessment, monitoring and documentation.
• Administer IV medications and manage Central Venous Access Devices safely.
• Support breastfeeding mothers and promote lactation education.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient‑focused care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, attendance standards and required health and safety checks.

Required profile

• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses.
• Current BCLS certification.
• NRP certification or willingness to obtain within six months.
• ACoRN certification or willingness to obtain.
• One year full‑time nursing experience preferred, especially in perinatal or surgical settings.
• Ability to work all three shifts, including weekends.
• Successful police vulnerable sector check and pre‑employment health assessment.
