Registered Nurse – Long Term Care

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (R.N.) to provide high‑quality nursing care in a nursing home/long‑term care setting in Fordwich, Ontario. The role involves direct patient care, supervising nursing staff, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary health team to ensure optimal outcomes for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Assist health‑care practitioners during examinations and treatments.
• Monitor patients, document symptoms, and inform physicians of any changes.
• Assess patients to determine appropriate nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Conduct disease screening and deliver immunisation programs.
• Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment.
• Provide supportive counselling and life‑skills programming.
• Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff (16‑20 people).
• Perform administrative tasks related to patient care.

Required profile

• CPR Certificate and RN licensure by provincial authorities.
• Criminal record check, immunisation records, and tuberculosis test.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Flexibility, initiative, good judgement, organization, reliability, teamwork, and time‑management abilities.
