Registered Nurse – Home Care (Casual/Relief)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing services to home‑care clients in the Eckville community. Reporting to the Care Manager, you will assess client needs, coordinate interdisciplinary resources, and deliver direct care including wound management, palliative support, and home parenteral therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Assess client needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Coordinate internal and external resources with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide direct nursing care, including wound care, palliative care, and home parenteral therapy.
• Facilitate client and family education and ensure ongoing modification of services.
• Make timely referrals to appropriate stakeholders and support case management as needed.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS‑HCP) certification.
• Physically able to perform tasks such as climbing stairs, lifting, and traveling to client homes.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.

Required skills

• Wound care expertise.
• Palliative care support.
• Home parenteral therapy administration.
• Proficiency with Connect Care, Service Authorizations, RAI‑HC, Netcare, and AADLs.
• Experience using HPT and delivering client teaching.
