Registered Nurse – Family Birthing Centre

About the role

The Family Birthing Centre at St. Michael's Hospital is seeking a cross‑trained Registered Nurse to deliver safe, ethical, and patient‑centred care. You will work within interprofessional teams, advocate for wellness, and continuously enhance your practice through reflective learning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide holistic, evidence‑based, culturally appropriate nursing care in line with College of Nurses of Ontario standards.
• Establish therapeutic relationships, coordinate care activities, and communicate effectively with patients and the care team.
• Assess patient needs, develop and adjust care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Deliver health education to patients and families using effective teaching strategies.
• Document assessments, interventions, and discharge planning accurately.
• Serve as a resource for organizing and coordinating patient care activities and participate in hospital committees.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Ability to function proficiently in both clinical areas of the Family Birthing Centre.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice, continuous learning, and reflective practice.
• Strong collaboration skills and willingness to mentor students and colleagues.
