Registered Nurse – Cardiac Care (Class A) – Saint John

About the role

The NB Heart Center is seeking a Class A Registered Nurse (RNCA) to deliver focused cardiac medical and surgical nursing care in Saint John. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the DARP charting model.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive basic nursing care including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and elimination.
• Perform advanced cardiac assessments and adjust care plans as patient conditions evolve.
• Maintain and apply specialized knowledge of cardiac interventions, acting as team member, charge nurse, or leader as needed.
• Collaborate directly with physicians, surgeons, patients, and families throughout the care continuum.
• Document all care activities accurately and participate in Code Blue and Code White teams.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick, renewed annually.
• Minimum 1 year ICU/CCU experience or equivalent cardiac surgery, cardiology, or medical/surgical experience.
• Demonstrated competence in the nursing process and confidentiality policies.
• Strong critical‑thinking skills and ability to work shift schedules.
• Valid BCLS and ACLS certifications.
