Registered Nurse – Acute Care (Deep River & District Health)

About the role

The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its acute‑care team. You will work within a multidisciplinary environment, delivering high‑quality nursing care and education to patients and families while adhering to provincial standards and organizational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team in an acute‑care setting.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and self‑care.
• Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.
• Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration and may be assigned additional duties as needed.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent education and experience.
• Recent clinical experience in an acute‑care environment, preferably with pediatric exposure.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high‑stress, critical situations.
• Commitment to patient safety, excellent attendance, and collaborative practice.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtain within six months of hire).
• 12‑lead ECG interpretation course (or obtain within six months of hire).
• CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) training (or obtain within six months of hire).
• TNCC and PALS certifications (preferred).
• Emergency Nursing or Critical Care certification (preferred).
• Gentle Persuasive Approach certification (preferred).
• Computer literacy and experience with electronic documentation systems.
