Regional Nurse Consultant

About the role

The Regional Nurse Consultant (RNC) serves as the Regional Director of Clinical Operations for assigned long‑term care facilities in Northern New Mexico. The role partners with facilities to drive clinical excellence, develop differentiated programming, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary clinical resource for facilities, collaborating with the Regional Director of Operations, Staff Development, Rehab, MDS, and other leaders.
• Assist facility management in implementing resident‑care policies, procedures, and company standards.
• Conduct facility reviews, including mock surveys, and prepare compliance reports.
• Lead quality‑assurance initiatives, identify care trends, and design educational programs for nursing teams.
• Evaluate nursing practices against professional standards, the State Nurse Practice Act, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership, link resources, and facilitate interdisciplinary team (IDT) care‑management processes.
• Support budgeting, labor‑hour analysis, and reimbursement processes such as PPS, RAI, HMO authorizations, and level‑of‑care changes.

Required profile

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Minimum five years of long‑term care experience.
• At least two years of experience as a Director of Nursing or equivalent leadership role.
• Regional experience preferred.
