Regional Manager - British Columbia

About the role

Manitoulin Transport, which has provided transportation and logistics solutions across North America for over 65 years, is looking for a results-driven Regional Manager to oversee terminal operations across its British Columbia network, including Victoria, Nanaimo, Courtney, Prince George, Kamloops and Kelowna. Based in Kamloops or Kelowna, the manager directs terminal activities to make best use of equipment, facilities and personnel, combining financial acumen with frontline leadership to drive profitability, service consistency, customer satisfaction and team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily terminal operations and monitor freight levels, terminal financials, daily revenues and operating costs, executing cost-reduction strategies
• Support, counsel, train and develop terminal managers and frontline staff, and lead recruitment, onboarding, performance appraisals and retention efforts
• Handle grievances, complaints and disciplinary actions in line with policy and employment legislation
• Work with executive management to set and enforce administrative and operational policies, and uphold operational standards and HSE rules
• Resolve customer service issues, service failures and claims, and work with sales to support new regional business growth

Required profile

• Recommended 5+ years of operational leadership in multi-site transportation, logistics or LTL terminal management
• Strong financial literacy with P&L oversight, cost analysis and cost control
• Proven ability to manage and coach geographically dispersed teams and terminal managers
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly across the regional network

Required skills

• Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Advanced decision-making, analytical and conflict-resolution abilities
• Computer literacy with enterprise transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite
