Quality Technician – Food Production

About the role

Lactalis Canada is seeking a Quality Technician to join its Delta, BC plant. Working Monday to Friday on a 6:00 am‑2:00 pm shift, you will ensure dairy products meet all food safety and quality specifications through rigorous testing and monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Perform analytical, microbiological, chemistry and sensorial testing on in‑process and finished product samples.
• Record, evaluate and report test data, notifying the Quality Supervisor of any deviations.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Screen raw milk upon receipt and manage environmental and water‑quality monitoring programs.
• Plan, supervise and monitor internal and external audits (FSSC, CFIA, Organic, Kosher, customer).
• Act as liaison with regulatory bodies and maintain HACCP, PQMS and CCP documentation.
• Perform annual reassessment of HACCP and quality systems, and support new standard implementation.
• Maintain laboratory equipment through preventative maintenance and calibration.
• Oversee product release, ensuring non‑conforming items are not released.

Required profile

• Experience conducting analytical, microbiological, chemistry and sensorial tests in a food‑production environment.
• Knowledge of HACCP, PQMS, CCP verification and related documentation.
• Familiarity with regulatory audits (FSSC, CFIA, Organic, Kosher) and internal audit processes.
• Ability to perform root‑cause investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Strong record‑keeping and data‑analysis skills.
